2027 MATCHUP PREVIEW
FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP vs. TRINITY HALL
GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL
A SHOT AT THE CHAMPS.
When Freehold Township and Trinity Hall meet again in 2027, the Patriots will face the team that set the standard in the Central Division a year ago.
The programs met on May 5, 2026, late in Freehold Township's inaugural season.
Trinity Hall entered as one of the Shore's hottest teams.
The Monarchs left with a 26–6 victory.
One year later, Freehold Township gets another opportunity — this time with a full season of varsity experience behind it.
THE 2026 MATCHUP
TRINITY HALL 26
FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP 6
By the time Freehold Township faced Trinity Hall in 2026, the Patriots had already experienced nearly everything a first-year program could expect.
They had won games.
They had suffered tough losses.
They had competed against some of the division's best teams.
Then came Trinity Hall.
The Monarchs showed why they were at the top of the Central Division, holding Freehold Township to six points and leaving with a 26–6 victory.
For the Patriots, it was another lesson.
It also showed them exactly where the standard was.
THE 2026 CENTRAL DIVISION CHAMPIONS
Trinity Hall wasn't simply another opponent in 2026.
The Monarchs dominated the Central Division.
Trinity Hall finished the regular season 9–1 overall and a perfect 9–0 in division play, scoring 294 points while allowing just 76.
They captured the outright Central Division championship and advanced deep into the Shore Conference Tournament.
That makes Trinity Hall one of the biggest tests on Freehold Township's 2027 schedule.
A DIFFERENT FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP TEAM
The Patriots who take the field in 2027 won't be the inexperienced group Trinity Hall faced in Year One.
Freehold Township now knows what varsity flag football demands.
The returning Patriots have experienced the speed of the game.
They've faced championship-caliber opponents.
They've learned how quickly momentum can change.
And they've had an entire offseason to improve.
The question isn't whether Trinity Hall will provide a challenge.
The question is whether Freehold Township is ready to meet it.
CHASING THE STANDARD
Every developing program needs a measuring stick.
In 2026, Trinity Hall provided one.
The Monarchs showed what an established, championship-level flag football program looks like — efficient offense, aggressive defense and consistency from week to week.
That's exactly where Freehold Township wants to go.
If the Patriots want to climb the Central Division standings in Year Two, games against teams like Trinity Hall are where that progress will be measured.
KEYS TO THE REMATCH
Start Fast — Freehold Township can't afford to spend the opening possessions settling into the game against an opponent capable of scoring quickly.
Finish Drives — Moving the football won't be enough. Opportunities inside the red zone need to become touchdowns.
Protect the Football — Trinity Hall's defense can create turnovers and turn them into points. Every possession matters.
Limit Explosive Plays — The Patriots need to keep the Monarchs in front of them and force Trinity Hall to earn every yard.
Play With Confidence — The records from 2026 don't take the field in 2027. Freehold Township needs to approach the matchup expecting to compete.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The first season was about building a program.
The second is about finding out how far it has come.
There may be no better test than Trinity Hall.
The Monarchs set the standard in the Central Division in 2026.

Now the Patriots get another shot at it.
