Freehold Township turned a slow start into a statement win Tuesday afternoon, rallying from a 6–0 deficit to defeat Marlboro 20–6 and improve to 3–2 on the season.
Marlboro struck first in the opening quarter and carried that lead into halftime, but Freehold Township’s defense kept the game within reach. Sihera Karce (#24) anchored the unit early, delivering outstanding tackling in the first half and preventing Marlboro from adding to their lead.
The turning point came in the third quarter.
Trailing by six, Freehold Township dialed up a game-changing play. Skyler Rausch (#14) lined up at wide receiver, took a handoff from Chloe Glickman (#23), weaved her way up the middle through defenders, then outraced the safety to the corner for a 70-yard touchdown, igniting the offense and shifting momentum completely.
From there, the Patriots took control.
Rausch delivered a standout performance, rushing for 103 yards and a touchdown while also throwing two touchdown passes. Glickman played a major role in the passing game, finishing with 6 receptions for 35 yards and 2 touchdowns, while also executing the key play that sparked the comeback.
Shiloh Harris (#3) added consistency with 6 catches for 60 yards, helping sustain drives throughout the second half.
On the ground, Freehold Township totaled 155 rushing yards, showcasing a balanced attack with contributions across the lineup.
Defensively, the Patriots were dominant after the first quarter, shutting Marlboro out the rest of the way. Rausch led with 9 tackles, Karce added 7, and Harris contributed 5, as the unit controlled the pace of the game. Joelle Ganon (#1) added a sack to cap off the defensive effort.
Special teams chipped in with extra points from Gabby Ramiz (#6) and Ganon, helping extend the lead.
After trailing entering the third quarter, Freehold Township responded with 20 unanswered points, fueled by a game-breaking play and a complete team effort.
