Freehold Township faced a tough challenge on Wednesday afternoon, falling to an undefeated Neptune team, 27–0. Despite the final score, the Patriots showed resilience throughout and continued to compete on both sides of the ball.
Neptune struck early, connecting on a 36-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter to take a 7–0 lead. They added to their advantage in the second quarter with a short rushing touchdown and another deep scoring pass, building a 19–0 halftime lead. A third-quarter safety and an additional touchdown pass extended the margin to 27–0.
Offensively, Freehold Township worked to move the ball against a strong Neptune defense. Quarterback Skyler Rausch (#14) completed 8 of 14 passes for 44 yards while also contributing on the ground with 31 rushing yards. The Patriots generated 110 rushing yards as a team, with Chloe Glickman (#23) leading the way with 34 yards, followed by contributions from Gabby Ramiz (#6), Shiloh Harris (#3), and others.
In the passing game, Glickman (#23) led the team with four receptions, while Holly Matthews (#10), Joelle Ganon (#1), and Julianna Viesta (#25) each added catches.
Defensively, Freehold Township showed effort and physicality throughout the game. Kaylie Fata (#8) recorded a team-high eight tackles, while Chloe Glickman (#23) added seven tackles. The Patriots also forced two interceptions, with Shiloh Harris (#3) and Glickman (#23) each coming away with a takeaway.
While the result didn’t go their way, the Patriots continued to battle against a strong opponent, gaining valuable experience as they build and grow as a team.
